about two hours into the race and we are still climbing. see those antennas... that is where we are heading. the twin peaks lay just behind them. we will be climbing up to santiago peak and then modjeska peak. from santiago peak you can see gorgeous views of both the OC and riverside counties.
here she is, the unmistakable Michelle on her way to an overall first place finish for the 50K. she is on her return trip and we have not even made it up to one of the peaks yet. see those antennas over there yonder? that is santiago peak, which will be our first one to conquer.
thank you! thank you very much! this is santiago peak. if you are looking up to the saddleback mountains, this would be the peak with all the antennas atop. we are almost 13 miles into the run by this point. some runners are just over 15. it all depends on which peak you choose to climb first. we didn't have a choice seeing that we missed the markings for the first peak and had to catch it on the way down.
